KOLLAM: A five-member gang was arrested in the incident of assaulting a 14-year-old boy after keeping a knife in his genitals. The arrested are Ajith (26), Rajesh (31), Akhil (25), Aneesh (25) and Ajith (30), all residents of Mancode in Pathanapuram.

The complaint said the accused were in an inebriated condition. The boy, who went to call his friend, was stopped on the way by the team. They asked him to remove his shirt and pants and then kept the knife in his genitals. When he created a ruckus, they released him. The Pathanapuram police have registered a case under POCSO.
