DEHRADUN: The first visuals of workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand have come out. The visuals of the workers were captured with the help of a camera inserted through a pipe. 41 workers have been trapped inside the tunnel since November 12.

A six-inch pipe was inserted through the rubble in the collapsed part of the tunnel the other day. An endoscopic camera was pushed through this pipe to capture the visuals of the workers. The visuals show the workers wearing helmets and jackets waving at the camera. The video also shows the authorities giving instructions to the workers through a walkie-talkie to come in front of the camera and speak.

On Monday, the workers were provided hot food for the first time since November 12. The food was passed through the pipe in glass bottles. Till now, they had been consuming only dry fruits and water.

Colonel Deepak Patil, who is in charge of rescue efforts, said that the mobile phones and chargers will be provided to the workers through the pipe. Sharing the visuals of the workers, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that all the workers were safe and they will be rescued soon.
