KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has responded to the incidents that took place yesterday in Kannur in connection with the Nava Kerala Sadas. He said that some people are trying to deliberately create violence amidst Nava Kerala Sadas, which is witnessing huge participation from the public.
"Some people are getting disturbed by the warm reception that the Nava Kerala Sadas is getting from the people. These people are trying to create violence amidst the programme. Yesterday, a move was made as part of this. I saw some people describing it as a black flag protest. This government is not against democratic protest. But what will you do if the protesters jump in front of the vehicle with a black flag? It's not protest, it's aggression," the CM said.
"What can be done if a person who jumps onto the road meets with an accident? That would lead to all kinds of campaigns against the government. Yesterday, the DYFI workers attempted to save the lives of those who jumped in front of the bus. DYFI has done exemplary work. They should continue to do such activities," he said.
"People who are frustrated after seeing the brilliant success of the Nava Kerala Sadas are behind such a thoughtless demonstration. They must understand that such demonstrations are not compatible with the democratic system. At this stage, I would like to request them to put an end to such demonstrations. The Nava Kerala Sadas is a popular movement organised for the people. I'm requesting all those who stand with the LDF and love the LDF government to be careful to watch out for the forces coming to destroy it and not fall prey to their provocations.," he added.
