KANNUR: As the journey of Navakerala Sadas continues, the first cabinet meeting will be held in Thalassery today. The meeting will be held at Koduvalli Pearlview Residency at 9 am. The Koothuparam constituency sadas of Navakerala sadas will be held at Panoor Nuchikkad ground after the cabinet meeting at 11 am.
The government's argument is that as 90 percent of the files in the secretariat are moved through e-office, the absence of the entire cabinet from the capital will not affect the administration. The meeting will discuss the tour of Navakerala Sadas and the complaints received. Five cabinet meetings will be held during the 36-day-long Navakerala Sadas tour. Meeting with civic leaders in Navakerala Sadas has been avoided on these days. Other cabinet meetings will be held in Malappuram Vallikkunnu on 28th, Thrissur on December 6th, Idukki Peermade on December 12th and Kollam on December 20th. Although there is a public works department resthouse in Thalassery, the cabinet meeting is being held in a private hotel today because there are no facilities including a round table.
One hour meeting
Chief Secretary V Venu reached Kannur yesterday to decide the agenda and other things ahead of the meeting. The agenda was handed over to the ministers in the evening. The cabinet meeting will be over within an hour as policy matters will not be discussed. It is indicated that there may be useful announcements based on the complaints and suggestions received in Navakerala Sadas. After the completion of the journey, the Cabinet meeting will resume on December 27 at the Secretariat.
