THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Aravind, who has overcome the grief of not having his own sports cycle, will fly to Jharkhand on November 26th. There, he will participate in the 38th National Track Cycling Sub-Junior Championship at Sidhu Kanu Stadium. Aravind is currently practising for it on his own sports cycle. His dream is to win a medal for Kerala at the national level. Kilimanoor Madavoor native S Aravind, is a Class 9 student of Chempazhanthy SNGHS.

In January, Kerala Kaumudi had published the news about his mother Divya and father Shivakumar, an aluminium fabrication employee, struggling to realise Aravind's dreams. Following the news, several people came forward to help Aravind. Last June, he was able to buy a sports bicycle. He was soon able to cross the hurdle of state level after training with his own cycle.

Following the news published in Kerala Kaumudi, Aravind's parents received about 1 lakh rupees from various people. Using this money and a loan of around Rs 50,000, they bought a Zero Seven cycle worth more than one and a half lakh for Aravind. This helped Aravind to practice regularly. Coach Anoop said that Aravind's performance has also improved with this. Aravind will travel to Jharkhand on November 26. Aravind and his parents are thankful to Kerala Kaumudi for providing this opportunity.
