KOZHIKODE: Several members of a family were injured after a car overturned and fell into a gorge in Thamarassery pass. Six injured people, including children, have been admitted to hospital. The car overturned and fell into the gorge between the first and second hairpins in the Thamarassery pass. The accident took place at around 9.30 pm. The Innova car was travelling from Wayanad to Kozhikode.

The car was carrying Muttil native Marakkar and his family members. The fire force team from Mukkam is carrying out the rescue operation. The car is stuck in a tree. The rescue operation is progressing under the leadership of the Fire Force and the Churam Protection Committee by bringing a crane.
