THRISSUR: The police arrested eight people who allegedly hurled petrol bombs at a hotel and the owner's house near Poomala Parambayi Church. The arrested has been identified as Vattolikal Sanal (24) from Poomala Parambayi, Justin Jose (23) from Cheppara Thettalikkal, Akshay (20) of Kollara House in Chottupara, Akhilesh (20) of Echaram in Puzhakkal Desam in Peramangalam, Jijo Jobi (20) of Vazhappally House in Killannoor's Poomala, Akhil (27) ) of Puthuppullil in Tirur's Mundanpillly, Subijit (18) of Puthenveedu in Chazhoor and a 17-year-old teen.

The assailants first set a bottle full of petrol on fire at the hotel of Arun (29) at Konniparam in Poomala's Parambayi yesterday morning. Then his house was also attacked. The hotel was closed and the rubber mat caught fire. There was no damage as the fire did not spread inside. The preliminary information is that the attack was due to a previous enmity.

Viyyur Police Station SHO KC Baiju and his team caught the accused from their hideouts. Several cases are pending against the accused in various stations.
