KOZHIKODE: Youth Congress and KSU activists who waved black flags at Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan were brutally tortured by the police on Saturday. A team led by Deputy Commissioner Baiju took some protesters into custody after they waved black flags at CM Pinarayi Vijayan when the latter came out of Hotel Tripenta.

Footage of a Deputy Commissioner choking a KSU worker by the neck while taking him into custody is now circulating on social media. “ Please leave me, I can’t breathe sir” The KSU worker is heard talking in his strangulated voice. Other KSU workers protested against the Deputy commissioner's rogue conduct. The video quickly turned viral across social media and now there is an uproar against the police action which could have killed the KSU worker.

Meanwhile, Nava Kerala Sadhas is continuing in Kozhikode district. It started on Friday morning with a meeting with civic leaders in Vadakara followed by the Chief Minister's press conference. Besides enumerating the achievements of the government, the Chief Minister lashed out at the opposition.
