KOCHI: Four students died in a stampede during the tech fest in Cusat. It is reported that the tragedy was caused by the students entering the stage together during the concert at Dhishna, CUSAT's tech festival. The incident took place during a program organized by the mechanical department at Cusat. Around 15 students fainted in the rush. The final update is that a total of 46 students have been admitted to the hospital.

The identity of the dead has not been released. The children entered the stage when it rained during the program. The program was held on the open stage of the college. As the rain got stronger, the outsiders also ran into the auditorium and this is the reason given by the students for the tragedy. The injured were admitted to Kalamasery Medical College Hospital and private hospitals.

Singer Nikita Gandhi's program was held here. Students were falling one on top of the other and 15 people were seriously injured. Three people died before reaching the hospital. Two boys and two girls are said to have died. The police reached the spot and evacuated all the students. Ministers P. Rajeev, R. Bindu and Veena George will be reaching the spot.

Health Minister Veena George informed that health workers including doctors have reached Kalamasery Medical College and Ernakulam General Hospital. The Minister also said that the Director of the Health Department and the Director of the Medical Education Department have been instructed to make further arrangements. Private hospitals have also been instructed to be ready. It is also proposed to set up sufficient Kaniv 108 ambulances.
