KOCHI: The four people who died in the stampede during the tech fest in CUSAT have been identified. All four of them are engineering students of CUSAT. The deceased are Athul Thambi, a second-year civil engineering student from Koothattukulam, Ann Rufta, a second-year student from North Paravur, Sara Thomas, a native of Thamarassery, and Palakkad Mundoor native Alvin Joseph. Alvin was not a student.

The conditions of four people injured in the accident remain critical. Two people are undergoing treatment at Kalamassery Medical College and two at Aster Medcity. Currently, 72 people are undergoing treatment in various hospitals. 44 people are receiving treatment at Kalamassery Medical College. 15 people have been admitted to private hospitals.

The accident took place just before Bollywood singer Nikita Gandhi's music performance today, which is the last day of Tech Fest Dhishna in CUSAT. There was a heavy rush of students inside and outside the auditorium where the music show was to be held.
