KOCHI: Court granted bail to Robin Bus owner Girish, who was arrested in a cheque case. The arrest was related to a cheque case registered eleven years ago. Pala police took Girish into custody from his house in Erattupetta, Kottayam around 11.30 am.
The police arrested Girish in a cheque case related to the purchase of a vehicle in 2012. The police explained that the action was based on a court warrant. The arrest warrant was issued by the Ernakulam 3rd Class Judicial Magistrate Court. The police had clarified that it has been a week since the warrant was issued and the arrest was made today as the warrant expires tomorrow.
The arrest came at a time when Girish and Robin Bus were receiving huge public support, including on social media, in their constant dispute with the MVD officials. Meanwhile, Girish's lawyer and family allege that the arrest in the cheque case is an act of revenge. The family said that it is mysterious that Girish was arrested on the day of the court holiday without any warning or notice in a case that was registered years ago.
