THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new films of 11 directors who have captured the hearts of the global film audience with their astonishing visual experiences will be screened at the 28th IFFK in Thiruvananthapuram from December 8 to 15.
One of the main attractions of the fair is the 'Master Minds' section, where films by Ken Loach, Wim Wenders, Aki Kaurismäki, Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Marco Bellocchio, Wes Anderson, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Nanni Moretti, Radu Jude, Agnieszka Holland and Stephan Komandarev will be screened.
The film 'The Old Oak', made by film buff's favourite director Ken Loach who made the films 'I Daniel Blake' and 'The Wind That Shakes the Barley', will be screened. 87-year-old Ken Loach's latest film tells the story of the racism and coexistence that emerges as Syrian refugee families arrive in England's rural northeast.
'Perfect Days' by Wim Wenders, a pioneer of modern German cinema and a director who won top awards at Cannes, Berlin and Venice festivals, is being screened in this category.
Italian director Marco Bellocchio's film 'Kidnapped', which won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 19th IFFK in 2014, will be screened in this category.
