THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Taking action in the fake certificate controversy of former SFI leader Nikhil Thomas, Kerala University has removed the principal of MSM College, Kayamkulam. The management has also recommended disciplinary action against six teachers.
The university had found that the college had committed serious lapses in giving Nikhil Thomas admission to M.Com. The actions came after the information was confirmed that Nikhil Thomas had joined MCom in Kayamkulam MSM College without passing BCom. Kerala University Vice-Chancellor, University Registrar and MSM College Principal confirmed that the documents of Kalinga University presented by Nikhil were fake.
High Court had granted bail to Nikhil Thomas, accused in the fake certificate case. Bail was granted with strict conditions. Nikhil Thomas, who went on the run after the case, was arrested on June 23. After the case, Nikhil Thomas was expelled from CPM. Nikhil, who was a member of the Kayamkulam market branch, was expelled by the district committee.
