TEL AVIV: Israel has once again started bombing in Gaza as the week-long ceasefire came to an end. The Israeli army said that it resumed military operations in Gaza as no decision was made to continue the ceasefire agreement. The Israeli Defense Force's official X handle responded that it resumed the attack in Gaza after Hamas violated the ceasefire.
Israel started bombing again after intercepting the rocket attack launched by Hamas. The news agency AFP reported that Israeli warplanes have carried out a series of bombings over Gaza. An AFP representative reported that several drone strikes have also taken place in the southern parts of Gaza and the situation remains unchanged.
Hamas violated the operational pause, and in addition, fired toward Israeli territory.

It is reported that there is no possibility of an immediate ceasefire as there has been a renewed attack shortly after the ceasefire agreement expired. Hamas had released several Israeli citizens during the seven-day cease-fire. Israel too had handed over the Palestinians who were held hostage in Israel. Meanwhile, the process of providing aid to the victims of the attacks in Gaza and surrounding areas continued without interruption during the week-long ceasefire period. This is likely to be affected by the resumption of military operations in the region.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had asked to examine the possibility of continuing the ceasefire in the talks held by Palestine with the Israeli authorities. He also suggested that civilians should not be affected if the attack resumes. Israel said that 1,200 people were killed in the attack that took place on October 7, and most of them were civilians. Israel also revealed that 240 people were taken hostage by Hamas. Israel claims to have released 240 hostages during the ceasefire. Palestine also released more than 20 foreigners working in Israel.
