THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court has returned the documents found in the reinvestigation in the Assembly ruckus case, without giving it to the defence. In the reinvestigation, there were eleven witness statements and four documents. The action came after government lawyer informed the court that there was a technical error in the documents that the investigation team brought for the accused.
The investigation team was given three weeks to submit a clear report. With this, there will be another delay in starting the trial proceedings of the case. Minister V Sivankutty, left leaders EP Jayarajan, KT Jaleel, K. Ajith, K Kunjahammed and CK Sadashivan were not present in the court yesterday. The trial in the case which started in 2019 has not started even after four years. The case is that on March 13, 2015, there was a ruckus inside the Assembly to stop then finance minister KM Mani's presentation of the budget thereby causing a loss of Rs 2.20 lakh.
