Ending the doomsday for Bollywood cinema, Ranbir Kapoor’s recently released ‘Animal’ has now surpassed Rs 500 crore collection worldwide. The movie directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga attracted many headlines after activists and some sections of audiences objected to the male toxicity promoted in the movie.
According to exact numbers, ‘Animal’ has grossed Rs 527.60 crore in six days worldwide. This is Ranbir Kapoor’s second movie to enter the 500 crore club after the 2018 superhit ‘Sanju’. Meanwhile, actor Vicky Kaushal’s ambitious ‘Sam Bahadur’ came second to Animal earning just Rs 35.85 crore across India.
'Animal' which had an ensemble cast will soon be released through the OTT platform Netflix. The critical achievement for the film comes at a time when female audiences and other film stars including critics detested the unfettered use of machoism in the movie, which many people alleged was malevolence at its jarring best.
