HYDERABAD: In a historic moment witnessed by thousands, Seethakka Danasari Anasuya, a proud representative of Telugu soil was sworn in as a minister drawing thunderous applause and marking a significant milestone in her journey. Her compelling life narrative surpasses the gripping tales of movies.

Born in 1971 into the Koya tribe, Seethakka's early affinity towards Naxalite ideologies led her to join the Janashakti Naxal group at a mere 14 years old. However, in 2004, she transitioned from Naxalism to the realm of politics pursuing a career in law. She achieved a Doctorate in Political Science from Osmania University at the age of 51.

Embarking on her political journey in 2004 with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Seethakka faced initial defeat in the Mulugu reserved constituency election. However, she secured victory on a TDP ticket in 2009, exhibiting resilience and unwavering dedication in the face of challenges. Her tenure in the assembly was marked by an unwavering commitment transcending barriers of caste and creed.

Switching allegiance to the Congress in 2017, Seethakka served as the Secretary of All India Women's Congress. In 2018, she triumphed once more in Mulugu securing her second consecutive victory and earning a ministerial position. Seethakka's tireless efforts included a focus on bringing down KCR and expanding her national leadership role beyond the confines of Mulugu.

Her journey hasn't been without hardships. Over two decades ago, Seethakka experienced the trauma of fleeing from police gunfire enduring wounds that bled. After 11 years in hiding, she surrendered marking a pivotal turning point when Chandrababu Naidu joined the Telugu Desam Party.

During the challenging period of the Covid pandemic, Sithakka displayed exceptional compassion by traversing kilometers on foot to alleviate hunger among the people. She ensured food reached areas devoid of proper roads.
