KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has directed to send a notice in the monthly controversy involving chief minister's daughter. The notice will be sent on the plea seeking a vigilance probe. Justice K Babu ordered to send the notices against 12 including the chief minister and his daughter.
The crucial move of the court is on the plea seeking a vigilance probe against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, daughter Veena, Ramesh Chennithala, Kunhalikutty and others for receiving money from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) company. The court voluntarily joined party in the case.
The court pointed that everyone should be heard in the plea and a decision cannot be taken without hearing the opposing parties. The high court order was on the plea filed by Girish Babu challenging Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court's order rejecting the plea seeking an investigation. Girish, a native of Kalamassery, filed a plea seeking an investigation pointing the things in the records of the Income Tax Settlement Board. The plea was first filed in Muvattupuzha Vigilance Court and later approached the high court after it was rejected.
Girish Babu died while the high court was considering the case. The court then appointed an amicus curie to examine the maintainability of the case. The court directed to send notice after the amicus curiae said that can proceed with the case. It was found that Veena received Rs 1.72 crore from Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) company in the last three years.
