ALAPPUZHA: Obscene videos were played during an online trial at the Principal Sessions Court in Alappuzha after which the court directed the police to conduct a probe into the same.

The obscene videos were played at the Alappuzha Principal Sessions Court and Additional Session Court 1 at 11 am during an online trial. Following this, the court proceedings were halted. Sessions judge Jobin Sebastian directed district police chief Chaithra Theresa John to do an in-depth probe It is learnt that the court has asked to check into the possibility of hacking and inspect the phone numbers that were online during the court session.

Cyber police, under the leadership of Chaithra, reached the court and launched the investigation. An FIR has been registered after recording the statement of the court employees.
