MANANTHAVADY: A man was killed in a tiger attack in Wayanad's Vakeri. The deceased has been identified as Prajeesh (36), a native of Koodallur. The body was found by his brother, who was looking for Prajeesh, who had gone to cut grass. After the incident, the forest department officials went to the spot. As per indications and the locals, the tiger left attacked the victim, took the body, and later left it.

The body was found half eaten. The area is a forest border zone. Locals say that there is a presence of wild animals including tigers here.

Forest Minister AK Saseendran responded that the man's death in a tiger attack is a tragic incident. He also clarified that steps will be taken to capture the tiger.
