KOCHI: The Devaswom Board stated in the High Court that the Tantri informed that Sabarimala darshan time cannot be increased in the current situation. The position was announced in a special sitting of the Devaswom bench in the context of uncontrolled crowding at Sabarimala. The court had asked whether the darshan time at Sabarimala could be extended by two more hours.

The Devaswom bench directed the police that there should be no crowding in the rest centers and queue complex and the ADGP in charge of Sabarimala should look into this. The ADGP has also asked to submit a report on Monday on how to regulate matters including online booking. The Devaswom Board also informed the court that the number of Ashtabhishekam and Pushpabhishekam has been reduced considering the rush. High Court held a special sitting as more than one lakh pilgrims came for darshan in recent days.
