PALAKKAD: Police registered a case against the Youth Congress leader who posted on Facebook criticizing the Navakerala Sadas. The Trithala police have registered a case against Youth Congress state general secretary OK Farooq for calling for riots. The case is on the complaint of CPM and DYFI leaders.

Farooq posted on Facebook along with a picture captioned "Alibaba and 41 Thieves" with the note that 'it is natural for people to gather with curiosity to see pickpockets and thieves'. Farooq says that the police registered a case against this post on November 19 on a complaint filed by CPM members.

He alleged that a fascist approach is being seen from the Pinarayi government and a scenario of framing anyone who criticizes the government's misdeeds, in a case, is being seen. Farooq said in a Facebook post that he will continue to protest no matter how many cases are filed. In the complaint, the CPM leaders say that Farooq deliberately tried to portray the Chief Minister and the ministers as thieves in the post.
