KOLLAM: The investigation team has received crucial evidence against the accused in the Oyoor kidnapping case. The forensic team found fingerprints suspected to belong to the six-year-old girl , who was abducted, during the collection of evidence at the accused's house in Chathannoor's Mampallikkunnam on Saturday.
The fingerprints can be confirmed only through scientific testing. Fingerprints were found on the table in the upstairs room where the child was kept and the Swift Dzire car used in the abduction.
A soil sample suspected to be from the place where the child was abducted was also recovered from the car. It is believed that soil from the child's shoes fell into the car. The accused Padmakumar, his wife Anithakumari and daughter Anupama were brought to their house in Chathannoor for evidence collection on Saturday morning. Interrogation took place along with the collection of evidence. The team returned from home around 3:30 and reached the place where the child was abducted in Pooyapally and collected evidence.
Evidence collection was also done at a hotel in Kizhakkanela, from the abductors called the child's mother for ransom. Girija, wife of the hotel owner, identified the accused. A huge crowd gathered everywhere.
The Hyundai Elantra car used to transport the child, abandon her and then enter Tamil Nadu was taken into custody the other day. DySP Rural Crime Branch MM Jose, who is the head of the investigation team, said that the accused will be brought to the places they ravelled, hotel in Thenkasi where they lived in hiding and the place where the fake number plate was made.
