WANDOOR: In a tragic incident, a student drowned while taking swimming lessons with his brother in a private swimming pool in Naduvath. Muhammad Kens (17), son of Valasheri native Faisal Babu is the deceased.

Kens was swimming in the private pool when he got swirled in the depths. Seeing his brother drowning, the younger brother cried for help and alerted the owner. Kens was brought out immediately but died on the way to the hospital. Kens is a 12th-standard student at Wandoor Boys School.

According to police, the pool adjacent to the resort functioned without having an adequate license. An investigation is ongoing into the issue.
