THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSU activists threw shoes at the Navakerala bus the Chief Minister and ministers were travelling in. Shoes were thrown at the bus at Perumbavoor Odakkali. Four KSU workers were taken into custody by the police. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan warned that severe legal action will be the result, if people go to the extent of throwing.
The KSU workers' protest happened during the group's journey to Kothamangalam after the Navakerala sadas in Perumboovur. KSU activists threw shoes at the bus multiple times. The shoes fell on the bus and the police vehicle that followed. Police used lathi to chase them away and took the activists into custody.
The Chief Minister responded to the incident at the very beginning of his speech at Kothamangalam. The experience of people jumping in front of the bus has been shared before. Didn't see it repeating later. Today, when I came, shoes were thrown at the bus. I don't understand what is their problem.
'It is an ulterior motive to change it into something else. The situation is that if the people who come to participate in the Navakerala Sadas blow too hard, the one who comes with the black flag and the one who comes to throw stuff will fly away. However, if people dare to throw stuff, obviously there will be follow-up actions.'
'I am not saying that the natives should take things into their hands. However, there is no point in crying too much when normal follow-up procedures happen. Naturally, there will be follow-up procedures. Such people should understand that this is a challenge for the state itself. This is not a program organized against anyone. This is a program for everyone. This is a program for the future of the state,' the Chief Minister said.
