CHATHANNOOR: The accused in the case of abduction of a six-year-old girl from Oyur Ottumala were brought to the farm house in Polachira and evidence was taken. The crime branch team reached Polachira with the accused yesterday morning at 11.20 am.

The police released only the second accused Anithakumari (39) from the van. The first accused KR Padmakumar (52) and daughter Anupama were remained inside the vehicle.

Parts of the six-year-old girl's notebook were found near the dog shed at the back of the three-and-a-half-acre farm. In addition, the investigation team recovered the burnt remains of the school bag and the instrument box.

Anithakumari explained the facts of the day of the incident during the evidence taking which lasted for more than one and a half hours. Evidence was collected by fingerprint experts and forensic team. Some material has been collected from the farm for scientific testing.

The farm maid and her husband were there but Anithakumari did not pay attention to them. In the evening, evidence was taken at the hotel in Tamil Nadu where the suspects were caught and in the Kulathupuzha-Aryankavu area and at the place where the fake number plate used in the white Swift Desire car used to kidnap the child was left. The number plate was found in a broken state. Three of them were released for evidence collection.

Only the Ashramam ground where the child was left is remained to collect evidence. The information is that the accused people may be brought there on Monday for collecting evidnce. The evidence collection was conducted under the leadership of DYSP MM Jose.
