KOCHI: KSU State President Aloysius Xavier denounced the recent shoe-throwing incident in Perumbavoor as an emotional protest. He emphasized that such actions aren't acceptable as a means of protest and will not be tolerated in the future.

During the Chief Minister's journey from Perumbavoor to Kothamangalam, KSU activists threw shoes at the Navakerala bus in Odakkali hitting its window. In response, DYFI activists assaulted the protestors. As a result, seven KSU workers were arrested by the Kurupampadi police with injuries sustained during the altercation.

Furthermore, there was an attempt to harm MLA Eldos Kunnappilly when he visited the injured. The driver who intervened to protect the MLA also suffered injuries.

In another incident, a Congress activist displaying a black flag in Kothamangalam was assaulted by DYFI workers. He was attacked, pushed down the steps and thrown into a canal.

Addressing the issue, the Chief Minister stated in Kothamangalam that the government would take action if such shoe-throwing incidents persisted. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition VD Satheesan expressed disapproval of these types of protests. He specifically mentioned that even minor actions like rolling up and throwing a piece of paper would not be encouraged. Satheesan also said that the CM need not pretend that he is Stalin.
