THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The scenes felt like something that came straight out of a political thriller movie. Kerala governor Arif Mohammad Khan came out from his convoy vehicle and single-handedly confronted the SFI members who were waving black flags and disrupting the vehicle passage. Governor Khan got down on the middle of the road embarrassing the onlookers and the SFI cadres who were not prepared enough to face such a twist. Governor Khan was fuming as he moved towards the SFI workers and shouted back at them, calling them ‘scoundrels’. Guv Khan approached the SFI cadres telling them " Mujhe Maaro" ( beat me if you want).
Governor Khan alleged a serious security lapse from the police and alleged that the brain behind the drama was CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
“ These people were hitting my vehicle. The police should have known better about my security issues. It is a shame that the protesters are stopping my vehicle in the middle of the road and that too in the capital city. Would this happen with the CM? Would his security be compromised? Apart from police forces, the CM is also employing party bouncers for his protection. CM Pinarayi Vijayan is working on a conspiracy plan to hurt me physically. However, I just want to say, that no such plans will work here until I’m in the governor’s seat. I am not the one who runs away from such threats.” Guv Khan opined.
Governor ridiculed the SFI workers saying that all of them ran away seeing him coming out of the vehicle. All the protesters were soon arrested by Pettah police.
