THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Union Minister V Muraleedharan said that the Kerala government has the responsibility to maintain law and order in the state. He was speaking to the media regarding the incident where SFI activists attacked the Kerala Governor the other day.

Muraleedharan's words

"The fact the Kerala Governor was subjected to the attack of a group of goons in the middle of a road in Thiruvananthapuram gives a clear picture of the law and order situation in Kerala. The government is preparing a situation for the attackers to run loose in such a way that even the Governor of the state cannot move freely. The Governor is a person who has stood fearlessly and impartially against the corruption and nepotism of the government by upholding the values prescribed by the Constitution. If the CPM thinks that there will be any benefit in chasing and physically assaulting him for this, then they do not know about the individual Arif Muhammed Khan," Muraleedharan said.

"Threatening and intimidating others is a standard practice of the Marxist Party. There are many examples of this in Kerala from Jayakrishnan Master to TP Chandrasekharan. If the intention is to move ahead in a similar fashion, people will come out against CPM's goon Raj. It should be checked whether the language used by the Pinarayi Vijayan and MV Govindan is compatible with the positions they hold. The Chief Minister should realize that the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state rests with the Chief Minister more than the Governor," he said.

"The Governor's car was attacked three times during the journey yesterday. He did not come out the first two times. He got out of the vehicle following the third attack to avoid injury. What protocol was violated here? I have never heard of such a protocol. Those who lead the administration control the police and the criminals. The state government is cooperating with the planned attack by using the police. The government sent goons to attack the Governor in a planned manner. It appears that the police have been neutralized. The entire administration of Kerala is in shambles," he added.

Meanwhile, 7 SFI activists have been booked for protesting against the Governor by waving black flags and hitting the car. The police have arrested 19 SFI activists in connection with the incident.
