IDUKKI: Following the acquittal of Arjun, the accused in the tragic case involving the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in Vandiperiyar, the Chief of Police has taken a decisive step by directing an appeal against the verdict. The local community and relatives of the victim expressed their outrage staging emotional protests after the court's decision.
In a dramatic turn of events at the court premises amidst the protests, allegations surfaced regarding the integrity of the judge who delivered the verdict. Some relatives accused the judge of corruption, claiming that money influenced the decision. They insisted on having the previous judge oversee the case again. Notably, the relatives highlighted that despite the presiding judge being a woman, the accused was acquitted raising questions among the victim's family and the community.
‘He raped and killed my daughter born after 14 years, in the pooja room. I fed her. She was everything for me. He killed my daughter...she didn't get justice, the people here know everything, he is going to live happily now, we lost our child,’ said the family.
