JAIPUR: Bhajanlal Sharma sworn in as Chief Minister of Rajasthan. Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers. The ceremony was held at the historic Albert Hall in Jaipur.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and others were present on the occasion. Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of various states attended the function. The oath was taken in front of Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and Congress leader Ashok Gehlot also attended the event. Former Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore, BJP leaders Satish Poonia and Vasundhara Raje were also part of the function.

The party leadership announced Bhajanlal Sharma as the chief minister, excluding former chief minister Vasundhara Raja and other senior leaders. Bhajanlal Sharma is a Brahmin MLA from Sanganer constituency. This is the first time that Bhajanlal Sharma has become an MLA. BJP gave the surprise in Rajasthan as well after BJP appointed new faces to the post of Chief Minister in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

Bhajanlal Sharma secured his maiden MLA post by defeating Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj by 48,081 votes. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari belongs to the Rajput community and the other deputy chief minister, Premchand Bairwa, belongs to the Scheduled Caste community. Central Observer Rajnath Singh announced the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers at the BJP Legislative Party meeting held in Jaipur.
