THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader VD Satheesan has demanded a thorough investigation into suspected external influences regarding the tragic death of a six-year-old girl in Vandiperiyar due to rape. Following his visit to the child's house, Satheesan spoke to the media in Thiruvananthapuram emphasizing flaws in the investigation that led to the accused being acquitted.

Highlighting deficiencies in the judicial process, Satheesan stressed the necessity of reassessing the judgment or initiating a re-investigation based on current evidence. He emphasized the importance of respecting the family's wishes in choosing the legal course forward intending to seek guidance from senior lawyers to ensure appropriate legal assistance.

Satheesan pointed out critical lapses in the investigation, notably the absence of crucial scientific evidence and the failure to follow proper evidence collection procedures. He expressed concern over the government's refusal to include the SC-ST Act and allegations that the accused obstructed the post-mortem examination.
