ALAPPUZHA: A group attacked KPCC General Secretary MJ Job's house in retaliation for Youth Congress members waving black flags at the Navakerala bus carrying the Chief Minister and ministers. They also attacked his wife and smashed household items. The incident took place in Kaithavana.

Police and DYFI workers rounded up and thrashed the KSU and Youth Congress workers who conducted black flag protest near Alappuzha General Hospital. The Chief Minister's bodyguards also stopped their vehicle and brutally beat them up. KSU district president AD Thomas, who suffered serious head injuries, underwent emergency surgery.

The black flag protest was performed in front of the General Hospital at 3.30 pm when the Chief Minister and his team were going to the venue in Ambalapuzha constituency from Alappuzha. Besides Thomas, Youth Congress state secretary Ajay Juel Kuriakose, KSU leaders Dhansil Naushad, Vishnu Prasad and Yasin Rafique were beaten up. All five were admitted to the General Hospital.

Around 10 activists protested waving black flags at Kaithavana junction around 5 o'clock under the leadership of Youth Congress district president Praveen, when the ministers were going to the stage in Kuttanad. The police removed them.

Chinnamma, who was resting after surgery, was shoved

About 10 DYFI workers attacked Job's house around 5.30 pm. Job was not at home and Chinnamma was resting after knee surgery.

They broke windows and doors and shoved Chinnamma. They also broke the furniture like TV stand and settee. South police registered a case in both incidents.
