ALAPPUZHA: The belligerent conduct of the Chief Minister's gunman who was seen brutally thrashing youth congress workers who protested against the CM is getting controversial. Anil Kumar, the chief minister's gunman, was seen thrashing youth congress workers with a stick in Alappuzha.
According to existing norms, the gunman must stick close to the CM and ensure his safety and is devoid of any authority to beat up protesters. Here in Alappuzha, despite a strong police presence, Anil Kumar was seen brandishing a stick and mercilessly thrashing congress workers.
Anil Kumar’s conduct was questioned earlier too when he pushed a journalist away in Idukki and made a similar attack on protesters in Perumbavoor during the NKS event.
Youth Congress and KSU workers protested in front of the Chief Minister's vehicle which irked the gunman who rushed into the scene and started to thrash the protesters making the police sit idle. Anil Kumar’s antics created uproar everywhere and Congress leadership came with strong protests for the brutal torture unleashed by the CM’s gunman.
At the same time, a group attacked the house of KPCC General Secretary M.J.Job as retaliation for congress workers waving black flags at the CM. Job’s wife was assaulted physically and his household items were smashed. The incident happened in Kaithavana.
