NEW DELHI: The police informed that the five-member group that broke into the Parliament had planned to set themselves on fire. The Delhi Police investigating the case explained that they also intended to distribute leaflets inside the building. The police said that the idea was abandoned when they could not get the cream to apply to the body to prevent burns.
These things came to light when Lalit Jha, who is believed to be the main planner of the Parliament attack, was questioned. When the first plan of self-immolation could not be implemented, it was changed to plan B of using smoke canisters.
The police will record the statement of BJP MP Pratap Simha regarding the incident. Earlier it was found that the assailants entered the Parliament using the pass obtained on the recommendation of Pratap Simha. The protestors who entered the parliament building have been identified as Sagar Sharma and D Manoranjan.
