ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that there are people who want him dead and some of them are media workers. He was speaking at a press conference as part of the Nava Kerala Sadas.
The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to justify the action of the police who beat up the Congress activists who waved the black flag against him in Alappuzha.
"In Alappuzha, the police stopped the people who jumped in front of the vehicle. The policemen who were with me were far ahead," the CM said.
When quizzed about the incident where a press photographer was attacked in Idukki, the CM said, "The security officers who are with me always want to make sure that nothing happens to me. I saw them pushing away a person holding a camera as he attempted to rush at me in an unusual way. Gunman Anil was right next to me at that time. However, the media reported the incident by claiming that the officers grabbed the man's neck and ousted him. Several photographers have appeared in front of me. Were they all harmed by the security officers? There are people among you who have asked why I did not die despite the car accident. I'm not saying that you all want me to be in danger. But there are some who think so," the CM said.
