PATHANAMTHITTA: Agriculture Minister P Prasad said that no one has recommended successors for the post of state secretary. He was responding to KE Ismail's allegation against giving the charge of CPI Secretary to Binoy Viswam. The Minister clarified that people including the All India General Secretary are the ones who decided to give the charge to Binoy Viswam.

KE Ismail's remark was that the right of succession was anti-communist. Prasad said that the reason for Ismail's response to this issue is not clear. If Kanam Rajendran has given the letter, it must be to a party element. According to the party's organizational structure, there is no need to present it to the public, he said.

'When Kanam Rajendran asked for a three-month rest after the surgery, the official explanation was that the party will be led by assistant secretaries PP Suneer and E Chandrasekaran and national secretariat member Binoy Viswam. However, news came out later that in Kanam's letter for leave, it was suggested that Binoy Viswam would be given the responsibility.

Ismail questioned the validity of this letter in which Kanam suggested a replacement. Ismail clarified that suggesting a replacement is not a communist method, and sarcastically indicated that even if the letter had said so, it should not have been listened to', the minister said.
