KOZHIKODE: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan had the banners erected by SFI against him in the university campus removed by the police. The Governor had publicly come out against the lack of action even after giving orders to remove the banners early in the morning. Then Governor unexpectedly walked through the campus around 6.45 pm and furiously told the police to remove the banners.

The governor called the policemen shameless people and spoke in harsh language to police officers including the Malappuram SP. After this, SP and other policemen removed the banners. More than three policemen have also been assigned to the university campus.

After the banners were removed, SFI workers staged a protest. The protest was led by SFI State Secretary PM Arsho. The SFI activists tried to raise banners again in front of the police barricade. Then the SFI workers burnt the banner of the function to be attended by the Governor tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Raj Bhavan issued a press release accusing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of being behind the banners. In a press release, the Governor accused the Chief Minister of deliberately trying to destroy the constitutional system in the state.
