KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sharply criticized Governor Arif Mohammad Khan his 'bloody Kannur' remark. "What does opportunist Arif Mohammad Khan know about Kannur? There should be a limit to ignorance. I am only saying this because I am a position.", he said.
The Chief Minister pointed out that the governor is deliberately provoking students. "At least the Centre should intervene now. Don't let him loose", he added.
"Does Arif Khan's 'bloody' means the blood of the dead. Don't think that you can insult the state by shouting anything. Arif Khan does not know the names including those of Nayanar and K Karunakaran. Do you think that the protest can be suppressed?," he asked.
Earlier, the Raj Bhavan had issued a press release saying that the SFI banner was hoisted at the Calicut University following the instructions of the Chief Minister. The governor directed the police to remove the banners and shouted at the police officers. After the police took down the banner against the governor, SFI again raised the banner again and protested.
