THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Isolated rains will continue in the state for two more days. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light showes that last for a long time. Yellow alert has been sounded in Ernakulam district on Monday. No warning has been issued in other districts. The rains are due to the strengthening of easterly winds under the influence of the cyclone formed near Sri Lanka. After two days, rain will reduce as the wind will decrease and move towards Tamil Nadu.
Heavy rains were received in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha districts yesterday. The rain in Thiruvananthapuram started at 2 am on Saturday and continued till yesterday evening. Rains are likely to intensify in hilly areas, and public are advised to exercise caution. Fishing is not allowed in Kerala coast due to possibility of strong winds and bad weather.
