First for Kerala
Kerala got the first orange Vande Bharat in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first journey from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram on last September 24. Prime Minister flagged off nine Vande Bharat trains on that day. There were accusations of orange-coloured Vande Bharat being political.

However, Railway Minister Ashwani Vaishnav denied this in a press conference. Orange color was chosen based on science. Ashwani Vaishnav said that orange was chosen because it is a color that can be easily seen by human eyes. He added that 80 percent of trains in European countries are orange in colour.
