WAYANAD: Locals are demanding that the man-eating tiger that bit and ate Prajeesh, a farmer of Koodallur, should be shot dead. The tiger was caught in the cage on the tenth day after Prajeesh's death. The tiger was trapped in the first cage set up by the forest department officials. The incident took place in a coffee plantation near Colony Kavala.
With this, the locals came forward demanding to kill the tiger. The locals are of the opinion that they will not allow the trapped tiger to be taken away from here without killing it. After Prajeesh was killed, the Chief Wild Warden had ordered to shoot the tiger. The forest department had installed 25 cameras and three cages to monitor the tiger.
After biting Prajeesh and eating him, the tiger came back to the area and killed a pregnant cow. It was earlier confirmed to be a 13-year-old tiger named WWWL45. The visuals of the tiger was caught on two cameras installed near the chicken farm in Koodallur. The tiger was identified by comparing this with the picture in the possession of the forest department.
