NEW DELHI: NIA arrests eight ISIS-linked people from Bellary, Karnataka. The National Investigation Agency has stated that the series of blasts planned by them at various places has been prevented. The raids were conducted in Karnataka, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Maharashtra. A total of 19 centres were raided.

Explosives, including IEDs, were seized from those arrested in Bellary, Karnataka. The NIA team destroyed items including deadly weapons seized from people with terrorist links. Last week, 15 people were arrested in raids conducted at 40 centres in Maharashtra.

It is reported that the head of ISIS's Bellary group, Mohammad Sulaiman alias Minas, is among those arrested. The NIA also said that there was a plan to carry out blasts at various centres in the state and to incite college students to join the gang for terrorist activities.

The inspection started in the morning. The National Investigation Agency conducted the investigation in collaboration with the state police forces. Meanwhile, the NIA has not released more details of the inspection. NIA sources indicate that those involved in activities including recruiting college students to ISIS have been arrested.
