THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 8,000 new trains, 1,026 planes, 50,000 electric buses... Central government to set the stage for public transport revolution in the country. An announcement will be made next year regarding the purchase of these vehicles. All these are targeted to be ready by 2027. One lakh crore expenditure for trains. 3,243 crore for e-buses. The planes will be purchased by defence forces, Air India and IndiGo.

8,000 trains are being released with the aim of avoiding the waiting list in the face of an increasing number of passengers. Including this, next year's railway budget allocation will be 2.4 lakh crores. 3000 trains for new service and remaining for replacement of old and obsolete trains.

5,243 km of tracks were constructed in the last financial year. An additional 5,500-6,000 km of tracks will be constructed by the end of the current financial year. 12 lakh crore investment in railways is targeted within five years. It will be launched in the budget year 2024-25. 4500 more Vande Bharat trains will be launched within ten years. Its guidelines will also be in the budget.

Defence forces are buying 56 C295 Airbuses, Air India will buy 470 aircrafts and IndiGo will get 500 aircrafts. Half a lakh e-buses will be purchased with American assistance. It will be deployed in various cities.
