NEW DELHI: As the accused are trying to mislead the investigation by giving contradictory statements in the Parliament attack case, the Delhi Police will be investigating the case by dividing into 56 groups. The special cell is staying in the states of Rajasthan, West Bengal, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
The Counter Intelligence Unit has sent a letter to Meta to check the Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp information of the six accused. Sagar Sharma's house in Lucknow, Manoranjan's house in Mysuru and Neelam Azad's house in Jind, Haryana were raided. Efforts are on to trace the phone number of chief planner Lalit Jha. The burnt phones have been sent for forensic examination.
Keeping in view the law and order problem, taking the accused to their homes to collect evidence has been postponed for the time being. Clothes and bank passbook were collected from Sagar's house in Lucknow. His parents and sister were interrogated. Sagar was connected through video conference. Diary and books were recovered from Neelam Azad's house in Jind, Haryana and family members were questioned. Details of three bank accounts were also collected.
Meanwhile, Adv Abu Sohail filed a Public Interest Litigation in the Supreme Court demanding a judicial inquiry into the incident.

Search for Sourav
The accused's statement to the police that the 'action' was inspired by Bhagat Singh was not taken at face value. Information will be collected from the Facebook group Bhagat Singh Fan Club. The number of page likes will be taken. Footage of the attack went viral on social media, sparking a search for Sourav Chakraborty in West Bengal. The police have come to the conclusion that Sourav is one of the planners. After the incident, the footage was sent to Sourav's mobile with the message 'Protested, spread'.
Shoe shop owner does not know Sagar
Sagar bought the shoes from a shop in Alam Bagh, Lucknow, paying Rs 699. Shoe store owner Deepak Sadhana was interrogated for three hours. Deepak testified that he had no prior knowledge of who Sagar was. CCTV footage of the shop was collected. The cobbler in Lucknow who modified the shoe to conceal the smoke spray bottle has not been traced.
