KALLARA: Smisha Arun (34), a native of Kozhikode and wife of Arun at Kallara Muthuvila ‘Arun Nivas’, died on Monday. Smisha was fighting cancer for so long and was a contestant in the popular television programme ‘Super Ammayum Makalum’ telecasted on Amrita TV.

Smisha is leaving behind her husband Arun and three children Mahalakshmi, Ananthapadmanabhan, and Sethumadhavan.

Back in May, after stunning judges in the show with a stupendous performance, Smisha shocked everyone by revealing about her ailing health. The disease was fast spreading inside her as she was locked in a fight with a 4th stage cancer. Dance was her world and she would trade anything to get a chance to perform. It was later revealed that Smisha used to take Morphine tablets before entering the stage to perform.

Hearing Smisha’s ordeal and her surprising determination to fight the odds made the judges including actress Swetha Menon stand up from their seats to give the 'Iron Lady' a stunning oviation. Smisha was undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram’s RCC.
