KOLLAM: C Ranjith, BJP member of Randalummoodu ward of Thalavoor gram panchayat, made his protest stand out by painting his body white in protest against the police behaviour toward the black flag protests against the Chief Minister.
Ranjith had also kept a white painted chair to sit on in case the Chief Minister got off at his junction. This was modelled after the chair that was used by the Chief Minister in the event he attended in the United States. After the press conference and morning meeting at Kottarakkara, the team including the Chief Minister went to Pathanapuram via Thalavoor Randalummoodu Junction for the first New Kerala Sadas in the district. Ranjith stationed himself at Randalummoodu junction at 7 am after painting his body white. Ranjith said that the Chief Minister's problem is the colour black and he painted himself white because he is also black in colour. However, police arrested Ranjith and shifted him to the station before the Chief Minister's vehicle passed Randalummoodu Junction
Ranjith's protest against the frequent power outages in his ward had received the attention of the media. He had bagged the electricity bill of around nine thousand rupees in coins and brought it to the KSEB office.
