THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The authorities have revealed the list of invitees for the Ayodhya Sri Rama temple's inauguration. Reports indicate that actor Mohanlal and Matha Amritanandamayi from Kerala have received invitations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to grace the dedication ceremony on January 22.
Due to their age and health concerns, senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi will not be present at the function. Over 4,000 priests and more than 2,000 other guests have also been invited to partake in the ceremony.
In addition to Mata Amritanandamayi and Mohanlal, notable figures such as the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, yoga guru Baba Ramdev and prominent industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani, along with film stars Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth, have received invitations to attend the event.
Preparations for the consecration ceremony are expected to conclude by the 15th of the upcoming month. The temple is slated to open its doors to devotees on January 23.
The construction of the temple commenced in 2019 following the Supreme Court's verdict on the disputed Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. On August 5, 2020, Narendra Modi led the foundation stone laying ceremony for the temple.
