CHOKLI: The police are investigating the incident in which a woman was found dead in the well of her husband's house in Pollookkara. The Chokli police started investigation after the relatives of Shafna (26) of Pollookkara filed a complaint alleging her death as mysterious. Her relatives alleged that her death was a murder. The investigation in the case is led by Chokli circle inspector C Shaju. Things including abetment to suicide will also be under investigation.
Meantime, post-mortem report asserted that her death was due to drowning. This was found in the post-mortem conducted at Pariyaram Medical College. Around 24 injuries and bruises were found on her body. It is concluded that these may be caused by a weapon or in a fall. The post-mortem report was handed over to Thalassery Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Chokli Police.
Shafna was found dead in the well of her husband's house last Monday. The police also found a blood-stained knife from the bathroom of the house on that day. However, preliminary investigation is that there were no signs of using force on her. Meantime, relatives complain that Shafna will not commit suicide and that there is mystery in her death. They alleged that Shafna faced many problems at her husband's house and that she was harassed.
