THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University VC Dr Mohanan Kunnummal said that the banner put up by SFI at the main gate in front of the senate-house at Palayam is insulting to the governor. The VC directed the registrar to remove the banner immediately. On Monday, a banner was raised in front of the university headquarters against the governor who is also the chancellor. The High Court had ordered that no boards or unofficial banners against the authorities should be placed within 200 meters of the campus. VC ordered the removal of the banner mentioning this.

SFI had called for putting up banners against the governor in front of all the universities. Subsequently, the banner was raised in front of the Kerala University headquarters. SFI had also held a protest near this place when the Governor was returning. The banner came to the attention of the VC on Tuesday when he arrived at the University of Kerala from Thrissur Health University. The registrar has been directed to remove it immediately as it will affect the image of the university.
